An audio process stopped. The photo work survived.

When the audio process stopped, visual work continued silently and the photograph result stayed intact. Only affected media work was recomputed; saving the chosen settings still required a separate decision.

<section id="s01" number="2" next="s02"><title>The task and its result</title><text format="markdown">The person is selecting photographs and reviewing a short video. When the demonstration stops the audio process, the video adapts to silent playback while the photograph&apos;s selection, settings and preview remain available.

This is useful continuity with a concrete boundary: recompute the affected media work, keep the unaffected photograph result, and ask separately before saving. Losing an optional participant does not force the person to reconstruct that photograph work.

The principal episode uses synthetic media, controlled semantic roles and scripted browser actions. Its recorded process loss belongs to this finite local profile; it is not a field deployment.</text></section>
<section id="s02" number="3" next="s03"><title>Start with the person&apos;s work</title><text format="markdown">## Start with the person&apos;s work

A person wants to review photographs and a short video, rate and select useful images, adjust the preview and keep the chosen settings. The task should remain understandable while the available tools change. In this finite example, local media access, preview rendering, display, controls and optional audio form a temporary working environment around that purpose.

The request allows silent visual continuation if audio disappears, forbids modification of the originals and publication, and requires separate confirmation before saving. These conditions give continuation a practical meaning: preserve the photograph work, adapt the affected media work, and retain the person&apos;s decision about the eventual output.</text></section>
<section id="s03" number="4" next="s04"><title>Who does what</title><text format="markdown">## Who does what

The semantic orchestrator proposes needs, the architect proposes bounded obligations, and the privacy reviewer supplies minimisation and an allow/block decision. Runtime materialises the supported Work and local services; later Work consumes actual earlier outputs. One persistent Host maintains current execution state, while the local Root retains the relevant route, result and action decisions.

The principal **EWS3R2** episode uses `CONTROLLED_DETERMINISTIC` semantic roles. Its interactions are `SCRIPTED_BROWSER_TEST` actions, using synthetic local photographs and media. The browser really performs the scripted interaction, but this does not claim personal owner clicks or a live LLM in that principal run. Earlier EWS3 live/captured and memory records retain their own identities.</text></section>
<section id="s04" number="5" next="s05"><title>Audio disappears</title><text format="markdown">## Audio disappears

After four media frames and 16,000 PCM samples, the demonstration deliberately kills its owned AudioSink process; the recorded exit code is −9. This is a recorded process loss, followed by a fresh observation of the changed resource. The media work pauses for that new basis and continuation decision; photograph work remains retained.

The old action packet has expired. Trying to use it is refused as `host_current_action_not_executable`. A new observation describes what is available now; it does not extend the old packet or transfer yesterday&apos;s permission into the new situation.</text></section>
<section id="s05" number="6" next="s06"><title>Preserve one result and recompute another</title><text format="markdown">## Preserve one result and recompute another

The continuation recomputes the affected media result, retains a distinct unaffected result and consumes their bound outputs. Visual playback continues silently, while the photograph&apos;s selection, settings and preview remain the same. Separate references identify the recomputed result, the preserved result and the retained consumption.

This matters to the person: they do not need to reconstruct the photograph work because an optional audio participant disappeared. It matters technically because the source identifies actual retained material and actual recomputation. This is selective continuation with new work, not a claim that everything continued without computation.</text></section>
<section id="s06" number="7" next="s07"><title>Saving has its own decision</title><text format="markdown">## Saving has its own decision

`REQUEST_SAVE` prepares a candidate without writing the output file. The approved selection and parameters must match the exact current save request, and the write needs its own current packet. Changing the candidate would require a matching new basis rather than reusing the old approval.

The recorded output is a `selection.json` sidecar: selection and preview settings are saved while the original photograph stays unchanged. Its receipt describes the completed write; it does not authorise another one. Closure later releases owned resources and cache according to their own lifecycle. A killed audio child is not assigned a fictitious graceful-close receipt.</text></section>
<section id="s07" number="8" next="s08"><title>Recorded evidence</title><text format="markdown">## Recorded evidence

The following cards connect the account to exact record IDs, original-source JSON pointers and selected values in [the publication&apos;s field projection](https://github.com/AAkhtanin/hedgehog-os/blob/800f38c3407b3f4ec93dc943c977ffeecb614881/docs/showcase/radiolaria_os_v01/references/ews/selected_field_projections.json). A pointer identifies a field in the record&apos;s named source; the publication stores that pointer and value inside its `records` and `fields` arrays.

### Media work continues

After the audio resource is lost, the recorded media continuation increases the frame count while retaining the PCM sample count and photo work.

### Photo work is retained; expired permission stays expired

The retained and current photo preview hashes match, and the producer count remains unchanged. A stale action packet is separately refused.

### The consumer uses a new result and a preserved result

The recorded consumer follows SILENT_CONTINUE with no available audio and separately names the recomputed result, preserved result and retained consumption.

### A separately approved sidecar is saved

One recorded save writes a 250-byte selection.json sidecar containing selection and parameters. It does not modify the source photograph.

### A real process loss keeps its real outcome

Audio exited with -9 and no graceful receipt; display and media closed through their own acknowledged paths.

Record: **P_complete**. Class: recorded execution via editorial selected projection. Scope: Principal EWS3R2; selected values, not a newly run process or universal isolation result.

- `/cleanup/processes/0/returncode`: `-9`
- `/cleanup/processes/0/close_outcome`: `ALREADY_EXITED`

This JSON describes itself as `EDITORIAL_SELECTED_FIELD_PROJECTIONS_NOT_RUNTIME_SCHEMA`, with authority `EVIDENCE_ONLY`. It is a selected derivative, not a raw runtime snapshot or a fresh verification. The older EWS4R anchor does not cover this later projection in full. The chapter and source key preserve the route back to the source ledger and historical material.</text></section>

Within the declared local profile, useful photograph work survives a resource change while affected media work is recomputed and consumed. Resource availability, result lifetime and permission have different boundaries. This episode does not establish arbitrary device discovery, universal continuation, production readiness or host isolation for arbitrary programs. Its synthetic media and scripted interaction are not a live consumer deployment. The separate historical EWS3 memory sequence is not silently joined to this principal run, and preserved information is not renewed authority.

The selected `P_complete` record at publication ref `800f38c3407b3f4ec93dc943c977ffeecb614881` keeps the cleanup outcomes distinct:

/cleanup/processes/0/close_outcome ALREADY_EXITED
/cleanup/processes/0/receipt null

They are an editorial projection with an original-source locator. The surviving media and display processes close gracefully; the audio process had already stopped. This finite resource cleanup does not establish arbitrary-program isolation.</text></section>

**EWS3R2 principal; CONTROLLED_DETERMINISTIC semantic roles; SCRIPTED_BROWSER_TEST interactions**

Task: Review synthetic local photographs and video, retain selections and preview settings, then save only separately approved output.

Roles: Person defining purpose and conditions; Controlled semantic orchestrator and architect; Privacy reviewer; Runtime and typed Work; Local media and preview services; Persistent Host and local Root.

Observed result: Audio loss led to selected media recomputation and silent continuation; photograph Work and preview were retained; a separately approved selection sidecar was saved.

Limits:

- Synthetic local photo and media profile
- Scripted browser actions rather than personal owner clicks
- No live LLM in the principal run
- Editorial selected fields rather than raw runtime evidence
- Historical EWS3 memory is a separate lane
- No general device discovery or arbitrary-code isolation claim</text></section>
